Repeat code violations for Queens casino

Lawyers for Resorts World Casino at Aqueduct keep rolling snake eyes when it comes to their defense of minor civil infractions at the New York City casino.

The New York Post reports that in three years, the Queens, New York casino, operated by Malaysian conglomerate, Genting Group (MYX: 3182), has been fined for various minor civil infractions on three occasions. Rather than anti-up the nominal fines which total a paltry $3,975, the publically traded company, which according to Wikipedia has increased its revenue to US$ 26.5 billion in 2017, continues to opt for costly appeals to settle the low-level violations, reports the New York Post.

The various civil infractions the casino has been cited for reportedly include not keeping the alarm system up to date, failing to prevent a baseless fire alarm, and not posting crowd capacity signs.

The news agency reports that each time the summons is recei 7BALL ved, lawyers for the casino offer the same argument that leaves them on the losing end: that the establishment is part of the state and subsequently not subject to New York City Fire Department (FDNY) regulations.

Reportedly, each case has gone to the city’s Office of Administrative Trials & Hearings, where on each occasion the panel has determined the casino’s arguments had no merit.

According to filings with the state, the Genting-run Resorts World posted profits of $62.6 million, as reported by the news agency.
